Almighty Vanilla Pear- Ale-ing it in the Octagon

3/29/24

Matty Cartwright, CEO and co-founder of Crescent Moon, has swiftly brokered a new friendship with one of his recently signed breweries. That's right - Columbia Craft, along with UFC fighter Arnold Allen, are set to unveil a collaborative brew slated for release in the States come March and in the UK by May. Having been introduced through mutual connections in the UFC, Arnold and Matty have maintained a friendship spanning several years.

Arnold is widely regarded as Europe’s brightest Featherweight prospect and is currently 6th in the UFC Featherweight rankings. He has been tipped by many experts including Dan Hardy to claim the UFC Featherweight crown in the future.

Hailing from Suffolk in the UK, Arnold quickly became one of Europe’s most exciting fighters showcasing his talent in many bouts on the Cage Warriors promotion. After picking up the M4TC Lightweight title Arnold received a short notice call up to UFC Berlin where he announced his arrival in style to the world’s elite promotion by submitting another top prospect Alan Omer.

Upon becoming a full time UFC athlete Arnold made the move to the world famous Tristar gym in Montreal to commence training under the tutelage of Firas Zahabi and share the mats with the likes of Georges St Pierre, Rory McDonald and Mirsad Bektic where he has continued to hone his skills on his journey to the very top.

Matty is also making a name for himself in Europe in his own right, bringing four award-winning US craft breweries to the UK with a further five joining his portfolio this spring.

Want to know more about the beer. Honestly, we were hesitant about whether or not this flavor combo could come together and work, but the result is something we are absolutely delighted with. This procurement of pucker is overflowing with notes of marshmallow-esque sweet vanilla character. With a couple of sips the vanilla gives way to an amalgam of soft pear and acidic zip.

The Vanilla Pear is currently available in distribution as well as limited supply in our taproom.
