The World Beer Cup, often referred to as "the Olympics of beer," stands as the most prestigious beer competition worldwide. Held annually alongside the Craft Brewers Conference® & BrewExpo America®, this global event was initiated in 1996 to celebrate the art and science of brewing. It continues to play a significant role in raising consumer awareness about diverse beer styles and flavor profiles, while also promoting excellence in brewing on an international scale.
The World Beer Cup recognizes brewing excellence across an impressive range of 111 categories. However, it does not automatically award the top three entries in each category. Instead, judges carefully assess and determine when a particular category contains three exceptional examples of a style. It is at this point that gold, silver, and bronze awards are presented for the first, second, and third place beers, respectively.
Organized by the Brewers Association, a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to supporting small and independent American brewers, their beers, and the passionate brewing community, the World Beer Cup remains a pinnacle event for the industry.
